We hope to see all of you from the MVTHS Class of 1983 back home on the weekend of August 9th and 10th, 2013. Here is what we have planned for this year's reunion.

Reunion Details
There will be an informal "Meet and Greet" from 8 pm until 10 pm at the Granada Theater lobby sponsored by John Scrivner. This is an all-adult event for each MVTHS Class of 83 graduate and a guest. The event includes free draft beer and a cash bar.
There will be a picnic on Saturday from 11:00am-2:30pm. The Reunion Group Photo will take place at 2 pm during the picnic at the west shelter at the city park. Please plan to be part of the group photo even if you cannot attend the picnic.
If there is enough interest following the picnic we may have a tour of the old MVTHS campus. This may be the last time many of us ever get to go through the old campus as it is slated to be replaced before we will have another reunion.
Everyone is on their own for supper on Saturday night.
There will be a social hour for each MVTHS Class of 83 graduate and a guest at the Holiday Inn Atrium from 7 pm until 8 pm. This will be free and is sponsored in part by fellow classmate, Kevin Riggan. This will feature a variety of Hors D'Oeuvres and a cash bar.
An 80's Party featuring the band, The Brat Pack will then play from 8:30pm-11:30pm
Picnic
The MVTHS Classs of 1983 will have a Reunion Picnic on Saturday August 10, 2013
at the west shelter of the Mt. Vernon City Park from 11:30 am until 2:30 pm. This is a family-friendly event and we encourage MVTHS graduates to bring all their loved ones with them to the picnic. There will be a brief prayer to bless the meal at 11:45 am. Anyone who does not wish to take part in this prayer is welcome to respectfully remain silent during the prayer or arrive at noon for the lunch.
The meal will be prepared and served by,
"Meat Me At the Grill", owners Joi "Hardin" Disroe (MVTHS Class of 1983 Graduate) and her husband Chris Disroe. They live in Atlanta now and make their living selling world class barbecue and other fine catered cuisine. We are pleased to have them serving us at our picnic.
Our adult menu for the picnic lunch includes:
Choice of 2 meat items:Pulled Pork Barbecue Sandwich

Chicken
Up to 3 sides:
Baked Beans
Slaw
Mac and Cheese
Choice of Drink:
Sweet or unsweet tea, lemonade, bottled water or any one of a variety of sodas.

Please bring your favorite dessert and sweet treats to share.
If anyone has special meal considerations we ask you bring your own lunch to the picnic.
There is no purchase of a meal required to attend this function. If you do not wish to bring a meal and finances do not allow you to pay the price for the meal then please contact John Scrivner at 618-237-2387 so we can make arrangements for you to receive a free or reduced cost lunch for the event. We do not want finances to prevent anyone from attending the reunion events.
Class of '83 Group Photo ~ 2:00 pm
We will have a group photo taken of our class at the Mt. Vernon City Park. This is free for all MVTHS Class of 1983 graduates.
If we have enough interest we may have a tour of the old MVTHS school campus after the picnic concludes at 2:30 pm.

We are opening up the Brat Pack 80s Party to all MVTHS graduates from any class in the 1980s. Help us spread the word to others you know from other classes in the 1980s.
80's Dress is Encouraged!
The show will run from 8:30pm until 11:30pm in the Holiday Inn Ballrooms
The ticket price is $20.00 per person.
